For the final podcast for September, this is the 58th Playlist Mix. It’s been a fun week so far – if you saw the post from Sunday, the nominations for the 2009 Irish Web Awards are out and the Playlist Mix has been included in the shortlist running along with the creme of Irish podcasts, music, business and otherwise.

Also a special mention for Devious Theatre who have been included in the shortlist – their production of The War Of The Worlds, available as a podcast download from DeviousTheatre.com, is in the running this Friday night for a PPI Radio Award for Best Drama, so fingers crossed for them on that front.

It’s 2009, a new year, a new run of the Playlist Mix Podcast which finally returns after a lengthy Christmas break.

While the new PlaylistMix.com site is just a few days away it’s good to get the ball rolling with the podcast again. There’s some new online features and additions to come to the show over 2009 as a result of some planning time afforded by the Christmas break. When you’re running things week to week it’s nice to be able to down tools for a while and focus on the year ahead.

The focus for this week though is on the music and there’s six new bands for you to enjoy in this week’s mix.
