This one is a recent one from The Coronas, hitting the web last week. The video is for their forthcoming single Listen Dear which drops on September 11th (this music be one of the busiest weekends for music I’ve seen in a long time), followed up two weeks later by the release of their Tony Was An Ex-Con album.
The video was shot on location in Dublin at the beginning of August. Check out The Coronas on MySpace.
Heritage Centre, who were featured on Playlist Mix 46, have released ‘The City, The Tree & The Fox’ to the public, the EP release hitting shops and the web on Friday gone.
This is a great release. The music is totally infectious with non of your indie-pop crap. It makes for great listening and great repeat-listening at that as well. The launch gig in Whelan’s in Dublin was a sell-out and the band go on to play Dolan’s in Limerick this Friday night. ‘You Are Something’ makes for a great start and the quality of performance and writing doesn’t dip at all throughout with ‘Death By Science’, the TV-friendly ‘Losing Touch’, the much edgier ‘Stars’, ‘Somehow I Feel Cheated’ and ‘Your Leaders are Dead’ all on the cards. Consider them firmly chalked down on the list of Irish bands to see in action this year.
