Sitting here at the 2009 Irish Web Awards and The Persuaders have won this year’s Best Podcaster award, the category PLM was in the running for.
Personally, my money was on Nialler9 and Aoife for the Nialler9 podcast, another great blend of music, but The Persuaders topped the voting for 2009.
Bonus for Nialler9 who just walked off with Best Music Site ahead of last year’s winners, State Magazine.
Awards still ongoing here, you can follow the action by keeping an eye on the #iwa09 hashtag on Twitter.
Catch all y’all after the holidays…

Can you believe it’s actually here? Show 55 has been sitting on the desk for ages. Then of course, you realise that the news is irrelevant, the gigs have already happened and while the music should get a play, I’m looking for something a little current.
The summer break is over, the autumn is in and the podcast returns, the 55th release in the series, one which should hopefully see us reach for number seventy by the year’s end.
There’s the new facelift, some changes on Facebook, a new drop box for MP3s, Twitter is still there and the show returns with six acts and six tracks, as if we’d have it any other way.
Music this week comes from
The schedule for September through December will be published shortly so if you want to get your tracks in, now’s a fine time to do it. Drop an MP3 in our drop box here or email podcast at playlistmix dot com.

Have you been keeping up to date? If you’ve been following the Twitter stream you’ll have picked up (recently) that we’re in the throws of returning with the podcast following a prolonged summer break. Four months is a long time.
Taking time to arrange some licensing and syndication matters (as well as build up a wealth of new music), the PLM is set to return, next week, for the run to the end of the year.
I’ve been looking forward to this for too long…

It’s 2009, a new year, a new run of the Playlist Mix Podcast which finally returns after a lengthy Christmas break.
While the new PlaylistMix.com site is just a few days away it’s good to get the ball rolling with the podcast again. There’s some new online features and additions to come to the show over 2009 as a result of some planning time afforded by the Christmas break. When you’re running things week to week it’s nice to be able to down tools for a while and focus on the year ahead.
The focus for this week though is on the music and there’s six new bands for you to enjoy in this week’s mix.
You’ve got
Just like last year, if you want to get in touch, drop me an email to podcast@playlistmix.com. A quick way of getting in touch during the day is via Twitter – just add @playlistmix on Twitter and you’re set.
Keep an eye on PlaylistMix.com itself during the week for the lowdown on the new updates – it’s all coming this week!
Feels good to be back…
Update:In my haste, I gave the incorrect URL for The Unravelling – check them out instead at http://myspace.com/theunravellingmusic

After a heavy winter break, the Playlist Mix returns this spring and it’s moving to the weekend.
From February 1st, the Playlist Mix will be released on Sunday nights for you’re listening pleasure. A lot has been happening behind the scenes in terms of the podcast and it’s delivery and I’m happy to announce it’s return with show #44 on Sunday February 1st 2009.
Since it’s launch, there have been over 30,000 downloads, streams and plays of the podcast, a number that hopefully 2009 will build on. There’s some changes to the site coming and you’ll also be able to catch up with the podcast via Twitter, Facebook (new for 2009) and a few more places.
See you Sunday…

The Playlist Mix returns – a week late with show 42 – with another six tracks for your listening pleasure. This week’s mix is a little more up tempo, total other end of the scale in comparison to the 41st show.
There’s tracks in this week’s mix from
- Monosylabik – ‘Brake’
- Pilgrim Speakeasy – ‘Over Dosile’
- One Week From Wednesday – ‘Acrylic’
- Null Device – ‘Twisting And Turning (Club Mix)’
- Panda Transport – ‘La Fin Du Prince Charles’
- Blame It On Society – ‘Landing Zone’
If this is your first time to listen to or download the Playlist Mix podcast I hope you enjoy it. If last week’s show (or two weeks ago) was one to sleep to or cruise to then this week’s mix is one to get up and going to.
Want to get in touch? Drop me a line by emailing podcast AT playlistmix DOT com.
Until next week,
Enjoy.

After what turned out to be a week’s break, the 42nd Playlist Mix Podcast hits the web later tonight. The playlist has been picked, recording gets under way shortly and you’ll find it online here possibly around the 9pm mark.
Sorry it took so long!

The 41st Playlist Mix lands almost in slow motion. For this week only your “in between” track changes out to some soft piano while all music is of a serious chillout nature.
Yes, winter is setting in, I’ve been downing a lot of tea for the day while working since first thing this morning and as a result, all I wanted to listen to and what you’ve got before you tonight is a healthy blend of chillout tunes from some of the finest chillout artists online.
There’s tracks this week from
- Climax – ‘My Favourite Place’
- Anji Bee – ‘Crossing The Pond’
- Solstice Coil – ‘Brilliance’
- Divasonic – ‘Processing…Luv (Return To Mono Mix)
- The Atomica Project – ‘Gravity’
- Sine – ‘Summer Rain’
Back with a dose of electronic and rock for you next week but for now, enjoy one very chilled out 41st Playlist Mix.
If you want to get in touch, do drop me a line on podcast@playlistmix.com, pop across to the MySpace or click here to email the studio.
Until next week,
Enjoy.

It’s Tuesday all over again which means another PlaylistMix.com podcast!
On a day when the podcast was named on the shortlist for Best Podcast at the 2008 Irish Web Awards (I’m secretly thrilled but oh so surprised at the same time), I get to bring you another six acts, six more tracks from independent and podsafe acts – this week from the US, Canada and Scotland amongst others.
You’re treated to
As always, don’t forget to drop me an email (though there was a small flood in this week, or at least it felt that way on a submissions basis!) to podcast@playlistmix.com or check out the MySpace and add the podcast as a friend.
From the dark (literally) studio on a late Tuesday night, enjoy this week’s mix

Last week I mentioned the podcast had been longlisted for Best Podcast(er) at the 2008 Irish Web Awards. So I’m delighted to be able to turn around and say that the Playlist Mix Podcast, whose 37th show hits later tonight, has made it to the final five alongside Nialler9, Irish Beats, PC Live Radio and Mum Centric.
Getting nominated was a thrill, getting shortlisted is a real bonus. Looking forward to meeting the other podcasters, some of whom I already know or at least have spoken to (bar those behind Mum Centric), when the awards hit Dublin on October 11th.
For this evening though, it’s on to show #37 with more music, including a new track from Pato Banton… who’d have thought!
